Supuna Warusawithana and Erandi Warusawithana the husband and wife duo stole the show at the 67th Mercantile Table Tennis Tournament held at the S. Thomas’ College indoor Stadium at Mt. Lavinia on July 7 and 8.
The men’s Open singles title was won by Supuna of 99X Technology while Erandi won the women’s Open singles title.
They also partnered in the mixed doubles event to win the title
The tournament witnessed an exceptional display of talent with Supuna (99X Technology) and Erandi (Raigam Marketing Services) making history showcasing their outstanding skills and sportsmanship.
Erandi of Raigam Marketing Services won a triple when she won the women’s doubles event with her partner Dewmini Weerasena of HNB.
The championship on the whole witnessed remarkable talent and fierce competition, leaving the audience enthralled according to organizers.
AR Rasiah, Chairman of Hela Apparel Holdings was the chief guest and presented the awards to the winners.
Mohamed Laffeer, president of the Veterans Table Tennis Association of Sri Lanka was the guest of honour.
