
Minister of Power and Energy, Kanachan Wijesekera yesterday (01 August) announced that the second Sinopec cargo fuel cargo will arrive in the island today (02 August) following the 1st first cargo which arrived yesterday (01 August).
According to the Minister Kanchana, Sinopec’s entry to the local market will significantly ease the forex requirements for petroleum products as the suppliers will be bringing in a 12 month financing facility from their own investors.
Minister further stated that the Sinopec is expected to commence petroleum operations in 150 fuel stations in the country subsequent to agreements being signed with the fuel dealers.
