The Katahanda Media Foundation will celebrate its 25th anniversary at the Kotte Raja Maha Vihara on August 1. The ceremony which will begin at 5 pm will honour the the founder of the Katahanda Media Foundation, veteran media personality and broadcaster Srimath Indrajith Liyanage and the foundation’s contributions to radio, television announcing, and compering courses over the past two and a half decades.
A puja will be conducted at the Vihara, seeking blessings for the continued success and journey of the foundation in nurturing and supporting youth in the art of announcing.
The foundation will donate wheelchairs to mark the anniversary. They will also distribute school bags, books, and stationary items to several needy students. Dry ration packs will be provided to 100 families during the commemorative event.
Katahanda’s alumni, journalists, and radio and TV announcers who have all played a pivotal role in the foundation’s success and impact over the years are due to be present. - Chamikara
