One million visitors to Lotus Tower

One million people have visited the Lotus Tower which is considered to be the tallest tower in South Asia since its opening to the public on September 15, 2022.

Accordingly, the number of one million visitors were passed Wednesday (26) and a special prize was offered to the person who bought the millionth ticket to visit the Lotus Tower. 22,000 of the visitors are foreigners, said the Chief Executive Officer of the Lotus Tower Management Private Company. Major General (retired) Prasad Samarasinghe.

A family of four from Wilgamuwa area of Matale were the winners and a cash prize of Rs.150,000 and other prizes worth about 50,000 rupees were offered to them. The company stated that the person buying the millionth ticket was randomly selected and they were not aware of such a win until they bought the ticket.

Major General (retired) Prasad Samarasinghe, Chief Executive Officer of Colombo Lotus Tower Management Private Company mentioned that the Tower generated lot of income not only by selling tickets but also by providing services to institutions located in it. He further said that more other plans are to be implemented by the coming December, he said.

Accordingly, he said that the second and third phases of the Lotus Tower project that are currently underway is expected to be completed by the month of December. The Lotus Tower is open to locals and foreign tourists.

Built on an area of 30,600 square meters, the height of the lotus tower is 350 meters.A person who visits the Tower with a ticket gets the opportunity to stay on the seventh floor for 30 minutes and from there one can see many places including Sigiriya, Adam’s Peak and Knuckles Range.
