
Agriculture Minister Mahinda Amaraweera said that the price of a 50 kg bag of MOP fertilizer will be reduced by 1000 rupees from tomorrow (15 July).
The Minister stated this while addressing the District Development Committee meeting held at the Polonnaruwa District Secretariat today (14 July) in the morning.
MOP fertilizer price was solder around rs 2,000 at the start of this season. Price of the fertilizer was revised by the government to 19,500 rupees. Subsequently, at the beginning of the yala season, the government yet again took steps to reduce the price of the fertilizer by another 4500 rupees.
Today Minister of Agriculture mentioned that the price of MOP fertilizer, which is currently sold at 15,000 rupees a bag by agricultural service centers will be reduced to 14,000 rupees from tomorrow.
Farmers can buy fertilizer from agricultural service centers at this price from tomorrow onwards.
