The film, The Newspaper has been selected to be represented the Shanghai International Film Festival in Shanghai, China from June 9 to 18.
The film was selected among the top 12 non-competitive debuts at the Shanghai Film Festival.
This is the ninth time that a Sri Lankan film has been selected to be represented at the Shanghai Film Festival, which started in 1993, for the film, The Newspaper. Nearly 450 films have qualified for the Shanghai Film Festival under the two main categories of competition and non-competition and the film, The Newspaper will be represented at the festival under the non-competitive “International Panorama” category.
