Governor of Eastern Province Senthil Thondaman handed over water pumps among famers involved in banana and pomegranate fruit cultivation under the Project of Modernizing Agricultural Activities in the Eastern Province at a ceremony at Kallady yesterday. Sate Minister S. Viyalanderan and MP Govindan Karunakaran were also present.
The President of Guangdong Province Buddhist Association, Most Ven. Ming Sheng Thera was honoured by Sri Lanka China Buddhist Friendship Association for initiating the ‘Faxian Charity Project ‘ funded by the Chinese Buddhist Association to distribute 50,000 dry ration packs for needy Buddhist temples and families in Sri Lanka to overcome economic hardships with the assistance of the Chinese Embassy in Sri Lanka. Most Ven. Ming Sheng Thera and Guangdong Province Buddhist Association made a major contribution to the Faxian Charity Project of the Buddhist Association of China , which distributed dry ration packs worth over US$ 1.2 Million in Sri Lanka from 2022. Most Ven. Sheng Thera led a Buddhist Delegation from Guangdong Province to discuss future cooperation to assist the Buddhist Community in Sri Lanka. Here the Ven.
