At a press conference held today (27 April), Minister ManushaNanayakkara statedthat a circular has been issued to grant further relief on custom duty imposed upon migrant workers returning to Sri Lanka.
As per the circular, migrant workers who send money to Sri Lanka through the banking system are eligible to receive the said tax concessions.The amount of tax concession will be decided in taking into consideration the amount of money sent through the banking system from01 May 2022 onwards and this relief will be granted under five categories.
