
The 44th Observer-SLT Mobitel School Cricketers of the Year mega show will be held on Thursday (15), graced by a star cast of stage artists who will spice up the night when aspiring boys and girls will have their dreams come true that culminates in years of commitment and sacrifice.
Former World Cup winning champion batsman and ex-Sri Lanka captain Aravinda de Silva will be the chief guest. The guests of honour will be Minister of Transport, Highways and Media Dr. Bandula Gunawardena, Minister of Sports Roshan Ranasinghe, Minister of Education Dr. Susil Premajayanth and State Minister of Media Shantha Bandara.
SLT Mobitel is the sole sponsor of the event for the 15th successive year and Group Chairman of Sri Lanka Telecom Rohan Fernando will also grace the occasion along with Chairman and Managing Director of ANCL Anusha Palpita.
The invitees, award winners and their school supporters will be in for a glittering night to remember with music and dance acts also featuring popular artistes rendering the event worthy of its image as the foremost occasion among award shows for youth sportsmen and women in the country.
Among the top awards on offer are two trophies for the Most Popular Schoolboy and Schoolgirl Cricketers of the Year who were voted by readers of the Sunday Observer.
