The State Literary Awards Ceremony 2022, organized annually to give due accolades to the Sri Lankan literati, was held at the BMICH, on Friday under the patronage of President Ranil Wickremesinghe. Forty State Literary Awards and 03 “Sahitya Ratna” Awards were presented at the 65th State Literary Awards Ceremony which was organised by the State Literary Advisory Council, Sri Lanka Arts Council, the Department of Cultural Affairs and Ministry of Buddhasasana, Religious and Cultural Affairs. Here the President presents the “Sahityaratna” Lifetime Award (Sinhala Medium) to Prof. Chandrasiri Palliaguru. State Literacy Board President Ven. Rambukana Siddartha Thera, Buddhasasana, Religious and Cultural Affairs Minister Vidura Wickramanayake, Secretary to the Buddhasasana, Religious and Cultural Affairs Ministry Somaratne Vidanapathirana and Cultural Affairs Director Tharani Anoja Gamage were also present. The annual Language Day of Sussex College, Galle was held on October 14. Sussex College - Galle was established in 2005 and started teaching National Curriculum in English Medium. It’s now passing the 17th year of service. Through dedication and commitment, Sussex College - Galle achieved many victories. The most recent one is the Productivity Award 2020. Sussex College - Galle is the one and only award winner of Productivity in the International School Category. Celebrating the annual Language Day is one of the extracurricular activities among many other special events in the school. Almost all the study participants participated in all four language - based activities ; English, Sinhala, Tamil and French. Sussex Colleges are multi-religious and multi-cultural. The colleges expect to inculcate ethnic harmony and peace in the community through education. The school is the best platform to showcase the talents of students. Sussex College - Galle has opened the door to enhance knowledge, develop skills and inculcate good attitudes and values through education. Sussexians work together towards success to bring honour to their school.
