The Management Board of the United National Party (UNP) has decided to appoint UNP National Organiser Sagala Ratnayake as the President of the Ceylon National Estate Workers’ Union.
This decision was taken at the party Management Board chaired by UNP Leader, President Ranil Wickremesinghe on October 18. Minister Harin Fernando, who is the current President of the Ceylon National Estate Workers’ Union had also participated in the Management Board Meeting on Tuesday where he said that he had decided to resign from that position.
The Ceylon National Estate Workers’ Union is one of the oldest trade unions of the United National Party.
