Thilina Dissanayake was made to fight hard to beat Lisal Goonatillake in a three setter in the boys under-16 semi-final match in the National Tennis Championship played at the SLTA courts yesterday.
In another interesting semi-final in the girls’ under-14 category, Jehansa Methnadi was made to go through anxious moments before beating Venuli Jayasinghe in a hard fought two setter.
The first set was intensely fought out before Jehansa won on the tie breaker 7/5. However, she gave away three points before emerging victorious 6/3. (TBR)
