Unbeaten Methodist Central Batticaloa and unbeaten Wickramabahu National School Gampola entered the semi-finals of the Under-19 Division III Tier ‘B’ inter-school limited overs cricket tournament.
Methodist Central beat Wickramashila National School Giriulla by 253 runs and Wickramabahu National School Gampola beat St. Michael’s College Batticaloa by five wickets in the quarter-finals played at General Lionel Balagalla ground Minneriya.
Jeyasingam Yaroshan of Methodist Central scored an unbeaten 105 in 49 balls with nine boundaries and seven sixes against Wickramashila NS Giriulla.
A. Latharsan scored 62 runs in 85 balls with eight boundaries and skipper A. Yathusan scored 55 runs in 98 balls with four boundaries for St. Michael’s College.
Skipper Sasanka Bandara scored an unbeaten 56 runs in 47 balls with four boundaries and four sixes while Tharusha Sampath scored an unbeaten 50 in 48 balls with four boundaries and three sixes for Wickramabahu National School Gampola.
Sasanka Bandara and Tharusha Sampath put on 115 runs in an unbroken partnership for the sixth wicket.
