Sudeera’s super seven smacks Sebs

Leg spinner Dilum Sudeera had impressive figures of 7 for 65 as Tamil Union fought back strongly to take a first innings lead against Sebastianites on the second day of the Major Clubs Emerging Cricket Tournament final played at the SSC ground in Colombo yesterday.

Tamil Union continuing from an overnight 201 for 7 made 254 and then bowled out Sebastianites for a paltry 167 with the 21 year old leg-spinner Dilum Sudeera wrecking them with his seven-wicket haul from 29.1 overs.

Vimud Sapnaka top scored for Sebastianites with 46 in 82 balls with six fours while Sandun Fernando (26) and Tharindu Ratnayake (23) made useful knocks.

At close of the second day’s play Tamil Union were 39 for 3 with a lead of 126 runs.
