The Central Committee of the Mahajana Eksath Peramuna (MEP) which met on Wednesday under the leadership of Education Minister Dinesh Gunawardena, decided to take future political decisions adopting a middle ground approach, without wavering into an extreme at a challenging time in the country’s economic and political landscape.
While the MEP has a duty and responsibility to protect the Government, there is a general consensus that the Government must be protected to meet the expectations of the people.
The need to continue to work with determination and commitment to meet the aspirations of the people, and the need to protect the Government that has been formed by overcoming a major hurdle, was emphasised at the meeting.
The MEP meeting was held at the party headquarters in Maharagama with the participation of MP Yadamini Gunawardena and other members of the Central Committee.
