All those over the age of 20 can now obtain their booster dose (Pfizer) of the Covid-19 vaccine from any MOH office islandwide, said Deputy Director General Health Services (DDGHS), Dr. Hemantha Herath. He told a press briefing at the Health Promotion Bureau in Colombo on Friday that the vaccine was available free and it is the reason for the low number of Covid-19 patients and Covid-19 deaths in Sri Lanka at present.
However, only 52 percent of those over 20 had taken the booster dose and there is a lethargic attitude to get the booster dose, he said.
All those who received the second dose of the Covid-19 vaccine of any brand such as Pfizer, AstraZeneca, Moderna, Sputnic, Sinopharm can obtain the booster dose three months after obtaining the second dose, he added.
