The White House Tigers team comprising Neil Fernando (captain), Shawn Goonesekara, Menaka Silva, Bhanuka Rajapakse, Lahiru Gamage, Danushaka Colombage, Dilka Perera, Javed Gill, Desath Lambert, Lathaniel Bahar, Joel Lambert, Andel Lambert, Pastor Pio Anandappa and Jeffery Vandersay celebrate on the podium after beating Raffer Nackles in their annual cricket encounter for the Mona Fernando Trophy at the Tyronne Fernando stadium in Moratuwa on February 4. Seven teams contested the tournament representing branches of the KRC Glorious Church in the tournament dedicated to Mona Fernando who was the paternal grandmother of former St. Peter’s College and Sri Lanka Youth wicket-keeper batsman (Prophet) Jerome Fernando the senior overseer of the KRC Glorious Church Ministry. The game went down to the wire and Lahiru Gamage walked away with the man-of-the-tournament award. The best batsman of the tournament was Kevin Corteling from Raffer Nackles (Raffles Branch) while Danushka Colombage from the White House Tigers (Mount English Branch) was adjudged the best bowler.
