The 160th birth anniversary commemoration of Suwami Vivekananda was held on January 12. The ceremony was organizsed by Batticaloa the social service organisation called, ‘Aatel Peravai’ General Secretary of the Tamil Makkal Viduthalai Puligal Party (TMVP), P. Prasanthan garlanded the statue situated at Arayampathy along the Batticaloa-Kalmunai highway.
After the ceremony, the members of the ‘Aatel Peravai’ posed for a picture alongside the statue of Swami Vivekananda.
