The Government will provide an allowance of Rs. 2,000 to people whose livelihoods have been affected by the 10-day lockdown.
The Ministry of Finance has directed the District Secretaries to prepare a list of the beneficiaries. The allowance is expected to be disbursed this week.
An islandwide quarantine curfew was imposed from 10.00 pm on Friday (August 20) until August 30 to curb the spread of Covid-19 and to ramp up the national inoculation drive.
