Methvan Wijemanne cruised into the third-round of the Boys' Under-14 Singles with a straight set win on the second day of the Colombo Open Tennis Championships which continued at the SLTA Courts at Green Path yesterday.
Wijemanne was in tremendous form as he demolished his opponent Shaveen Nanayakkara without conceding a single point 6-0, 6-0.

Women’s Singles (third-round): Savini Jayasuriya beat Nishka Vivekanandan 6-1, 6-2. Sethmi Sumanaweera beat Nesangi Hemakumara 7-5, 6-4.
Boys’ Under-14 (first-round): Litila Goonetilleke beat Chamidu Abeysinghe 6-1, 6-1. Lian Wong beat Ravindu Rukunayaka 5-7, 7-5, 10-4. R. Akuretiyagama beat Kenula Ratnayake 6-0, 6-2.
