Showers will occur at times in Northern, North-central, Eastern and Uva provinces and in Matale and Nuwara-eliya districts, stated the Department of Meteorology.
Fairly heavy falls about 75 mm can be expected at some places in Eastern province and in Polonnaruwa, Matale and Mullaitivu districts.
Showers or thundershowers will occur at several places in Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces and in Galle, Matara and Kandy districts after 2.00 p.m. Fairly heavy falls above 50 mm can be expected at some places.
Misty conditions can be expected in Western, Central, Sabaragamuwa and Southern provinces during the morning.
General public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
