The Ampara District Sports Festival -2020 that was put on hold halfway due to Covid 19 pandemic is to be held in September according to the Ampara District Secretariat Sports Officer M.I.M.Ameer Ali.
Major events which is part of the Sports Festival was in progress when the Covid 19 spread began.
Ameer Ali has instructed all Sports Officers attached to Divisional Secretariats in the district to complete the divisional level sports meet before the end of August 2020. Table tennis, badminton, chess, carom, rugby, basketball, beach volleyball, kabaddi and karate were worked off while cricket, football, volleyball, swimming and Elle are to be completed.
