Pasindu Hirushan, the Sri Jayewardenapura university student who was seriously injured after a tire was thrown at him by a group of seniors, was discharged from the hospital this week.
He was discharged after treatment for nearly three months at the National Hospital. The accident which occurred on March 6 had left the 21-year-old with serious head injuries and paralysed. Hirushan was a student of the Faculty of Management. Family sources said he has a long way to recovery. Hirushan finds it difficult to walk and talk unassisted. His memory has not fully recovered and has no recollection of the incident.
Pasindu suffered serious head injuries during an unauthorised party at the university.
The students involved were arrested by the police and were released on bail on March 30.
