Oldest Covid-19 patient recovers

The oldest Covid-19 patient in Sri Lanka, a 94-year-old woman of Beruwala, recovered and was discharged from the National Institute of Infectious Diseases hospital (IDH) last week.

She had first received treatments at Welikanda Hospital and was transferred to the IDH on confirmation that she was having the Covid-19 virus. She was treated for more than a month.

While the global recovery rate of Covid-19 is 40.17 percent, the recovery rate in Sri Lanka stands at 57.25 percent as of now.

It stands at 23.58 percent in the USA. The global fatality rate of Covid-19 is 6.43 percent while Sri Lanka records a fatality rate of 0.85 percent.
