The Western Province Badminton Association (WPBA) is coming up with new plans for the development of badminton in 2020.
The re-elected president of the WPBA Mohan Wijesinghe said their vision is to conduct more tournaments for the Western Province shuttlers during this year and in February the All-Island ranking age group tournament will be held followed by the Western Province inter club tournament in July.
In addition in October the WPBA will conduct the Inter Province tournament for the third time.
The WPBA plans to conduct training of line judges and umpires besides a special training program for coaches while emphasis will also be paid to district junior badminton pools and provincial pools. The WPBA conducted its annual general meeting last week at the CR and FC conference room where Mohan Wijesinghe and Rajpal Salgado were re-elected as president and secretary.
