The Consumer Affairs Authority has deployed 230 investigation officers to nab traders and mill owners who release stale paddy stocks to the market. Consumer Affairs Authority Chairman Hasitha Thilakaratne said in Kurunegala yesterday that legal action would be taken against the offenders who sell stale paddy to the public. Around 25 errant traders who sold stale paddy have been detected this week by Consumers’ Authority officials.
