Cricket team of Mahamaya Girls College, Kandy led by Udeshika Madumali registered a victory over Maliyadeva Girls College, Kurunegala and entered the second round of the Singer Cup Girls School Tournament at the Boyagama Army ground Kurunegala.
The 25 over match was restricted to 10 overs because of wet weather.
Himashi Koditwakku, all-rounder of Mahamaya scored a match-winning unbeaten 24 while S. Dineeka of Maliyadeva, scored 22 not out. In the previous match against Dudley Senanayake Central College, Tholangamuwa, the Mahamayans beat them by 28 runs.
