St. Anthony’s girl makes history

Sachini Dayaratne of St. Anthony’s Girls College, Katugastota has been selected to the Under-23 Sri Lanka Development Squad and becomes the first girl from the school to achieve this honour.

She is a right arm off spinner and a frontline batter who made a highest score of 102 against Nuwara Eliya District while representing Kandy District in the inter-district cricket tournament held in February this year. In the Big Match against Nugawela Central she made a match-winning score of 47 and has been playing cricket for the past five years. Currently she is coached by S. Basnayake, a former Antonian cricketer.
