The Galle documentary film festival organized by the Galle All Arts and Media school is due to be held in March next year.
Awards will be presented to the best documentary, best research, best groups, best cinematography, best director, and best attempt. The festival will be a forum to gather all those engaged in the documentary film industry under one umbrella. The panel of judges will be selected from among the veterans in cinema, literature, music and related fields. Winners will be bestowed awards and cash prizes.
Documentary films act as a medium of disseminating knowledge, expressing feelings and raising community awareness.
