
The recruits who have successfully completed their training at the Sri Lanka Police College, Kalutara will take part at a grand passing-out parade at the Aluvihare Grounds today November 20 with Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe as the chief guest. The Minister of Law and Order Sagala Ratnayake, IGP Pujith Jayasundera with Senior DIG (Recruitment & Training) M.R. Lathif and Director Police College, SSP Damyantha Wijeya Sri will preside at the parade.
A total of 1012 policemen and policewomen in the probationary ranks of Sub-Inspector and Police Constable who have been augmented in law and order will be ready to serve the public. According to an Instructor of the college.
This is the first time in Sri Lankan history that such a large contingent of officers has been trained at one turn-out. The Police Service recently celebrated its 150th anniversary.
