Fourteen year old shines in snooker

Fourteen year old Khalid Gazali from Kandy is showing great talent in snooker and recently went on to score a break of 55 points playing for Shooters Club Gampola at the Under 21 championship organized by the Billiards and Snooker Association of Sri Lanka.

He is the son of a top cueist Gazali Saheed who was involved in the sport at Kandy Garden Club, YMMA.

Vidyartha win

The Central Province National Schools Sevens championship made way for Vidyartha College to finish on top with Dharmaraja College taking the second slot and St. Sylvester’s College third at the Pallekele stadium.

Peradeniya University hockey champs

Peradeniya University ended up as the men’s champions and the Colombo University won the women’s championship in the hockey tournament held at the Peradeniya University ground.

The tournament was organized by the Eastern University.

Old Sylvestrians 7-a-side cricket

Old Sylvestrians Sports Club will conduct a seven-a-side cricket tournament on September 16 at the Police ground in aid of the 2023/24 school cricket development fund.

The organizers are expecting to field 24 teams with some top cricketers expected to appear.

Trinity second in gymnastics

In an exhilarating display of talent and athleticism, the Trinity College gymnastic team recently took center stage at the Sri Lanka Schools Gymnastic Provincial Competition 2023.

They were able to take the second-place showcasing their prowess. The team won two gold, 4 silver and 4 bronze medals.
