The number of international tourist arrivals to Sri Lanka in July which was 143,039 is the highest monthly arrival figure recorded after three years. This is a 202% increase as against the corresponding period of last year.
The largest source markets recorded for July were India, the United Kingdom, China and Germany followed by the Russia Federation.
The number of arrivals from January to July have now reached 767,913, surpassing the total number of the previous year, which was 458,670.
