Hemas FMCG joined hands with Clean Ocean Force for an extensive beach cleanup at the Crow Island Beach recently, with the enthusiastic participation of its employees, interns from the MAS-Dialog-Hemas Summer Interns Program, Rotaract Club of Colombo Regent and Universal College of Lanka. Some 260kgs of plastic were collected through the day-long initiative. The event also provided an opportunity for volunteers to educate themselves on environmental conservation and responsible plastic disposal. The beach clean-up project aims to keep the coastline clean through community-led conservation. The partnership with Clean Ocean Force is one of several large-scale environmental projects planned by the Group to ensure the responsible disposal of plastic waste.
