The Royal Institute Career Guidance Unit (RICGU) with its core interests being assisting students discover their passion and define their higher education and career goals, and upskilling and making them aptly ready for higher education and employment has embarked on several initiatives including awareness sessions, discourses by professionals, specially designed skills development programmes and internship/observershipprogrammes.
RICGU partnered with Lanka Hospitals Academy (LHA) recently to open doors to all its Cambridge, National and Edexcel International OL and AL students who wish to pursue higher education and career paths especially in the field of medicine. The programe offers globally recognised clinical observership opportunities in the hospital environment, enabling students to acquire skills and stand out amongst millions of international learners who wish to enter the field.
The internship/observership programs play a major role in the process of ‘Experiential Learning’ which is made available right from nursery level through primary and secondary levels at Royal Institute International School upto undergraduate level studies at the Royal Institute of Colombo.
