Today (28 July), the Gampaha Court High Court (in a Trial-at-Bar) granted bail to all 37 accused in the murder case of former MP Amarakeerthi Athukorala and his security officer.
The incident occurred during the nationwide unrest on 09th May 2022, at the height of ‘Aragalaya’ protest against the government in the Nittambuwa area, where the Polonnaruwa District parliamentarian and his security officer was killed.
