
According to the Police Special Task Force, a stash of heroin worth more than 60 lakh rupees was found hidden in the ceiling of a community hall in the Borella Serpentine apartment complex.
More than 600 grams of heroin drugs were found at the place and taken into police custody.
The raid was carried out based on a tip-off from the Organized Crime Unit of the Police Special Task Force
The police suspect that some person involved in drug trafficking may have hidden these in the ceiling outside the community hall.
The drug stock has been handed over to the Borella Police for further investigation
According to the orders and instructions of the Police Special Task Force Commander DIG Varuna Jayasundara, Director Intelligence Superintendent of Police MMK Wijesinghe, Assistant Superintendent of Police (Intelligence Special Operations Anti-Narcotics and Organized Crime) Sagara Kulasekera Organized Crime Unit Sub-Inspector Inspector TM Dharmawardena conducted the raid.
