The Meteorological Department has issued a weather update for Sri Lanka, predicting several spells of showers in certain regions of the country. Residents of Western, Sabaragamuwa, and North-Western provinces, as well as those in Kandy, Nuwara-Eliya, Galle, and Matara districts, are advised to be prepared for rain over the coming days.
In contrast, the rest of the island is expected to experience mainly fair weather conditions.
Additionally, strong winds with speeds ranging from 40 to 50 kmph are anticipated at intervals in specific areas. These regions include the western slopes of the central hills, Northern, North-Central, and North-Western provinces, along with Monaragala, Hambantota, and Trincomalee districts. Residents in these regions are advised to take necessary precautions to avoid any potential damage caused by the strong winds.
