Kingswood to host Joes

Kingswood College will host St. Joseph’s College in their Dialog inter-school rugby league fixture at Pallekelle today and both sides are expected to dish out an exciting game of run and pass rugby.

Captains Imanka Ishara of Kingswood and Naveen Marasinghe of St. Joseph’s are also expected to be the cynosure of all eyes.

Kandy Bloomfield win

Kandy Bloomfield CC beat Prisons SC by nine wickets in their KDCA division III cricket tournament match played at the Prisons ground Pallekelle.

Prison SC: 86 in 26.5 overs (Srinath Ratnayake 19 n.o., AD Warnakulasooriya 19, Nuwan Abeynayake 3/18, Akila Palledeniya 2/9 Nisala Tennakoon 2/19)

Kandy Bloomfield CC: 91 for 1 in 9.4 overs (LK Bandara 30 n.o., Chamara Atapattu 23 n.o)

St. Sylvester’s confront Carey

St. Sylvester’s College take on Carey College in their Dialog inter-school league rugby match at Bogambara Stadium today in yet another game that will be closely followed.

KDHA hockey

Eleven teams are expected to take part in the Kandy District Hockey Association inter club league tournament that is expected to start on August 8 at the Peradeniya Campus ground.

KDHA president R. Maheswaran, secretary M. Ashraff and the rest of the Committee are working hard to make the event a grand success.

Vidyartha beat Rajans  

In an exciting game Vidyartha College beat Dharmaraja College 29-22 in their Dialog trophy inter school league rugby match at the Bogambara stadium yesterday. Vidyartha scored two tries which they converted and added five penalties for their 29 points while the Rajans scored and converted one try and put over five penalties.
