Sri Lanka and Germany have reached an agreement to set up a renewable energy vocational training school in Sri Lanka. The primary objective of this initiative is to offer a comprehensive education on renewable energy to youth.
The agreement was reached following a discussion between the Presidential Adviser on Climate Change Ruwan Wijewardene and officials of the German Embassy in Sri Lanka.
German Embassy officials also agreed to facilitate employment opportunities in German renewable energy companies for students who pass the vocational training modules. The vocational training school will be set up within the Homagama Technical Zone.
Wijewardene will communicate the details of the agreement to President Ranil Wickremesinghe. When the project report is received, it will be presented to the Cabinet for their consideration and adoption.
