US Ambassador to Sri Lanka Julie Chung was presented with the recently launched coffee table book, “Kingdom of Ruhuna,” by representatives from the America Sri Lanka Photographic Art Society.
The book presentation took place at the US Embassy in Colombo, during a visit by Ms. Sadeesha Hulangamuwa, the Secretary of the America Sri Lanka Photographic Art Society, who is currently in Colombo. The event was attended by Ms. Hiranthi De Silva, Shantha Jayalath, and other officials of the US Embassy.
During the presentation, Ms. Sadeesha Hulangomuwa, on behalf of the America Sri Lanka Photographic Art Society expressed her gratitude to US Ambassador Chung for her support of the “Sri Lanka In Focus 2023” Art and Culture Exhibition at the University of California in Los Angeles - UCLA on April 22 and 23, 2023. The exhibition served as a tribute to Earth Day 2023 and commemorated 75 years of diplomatic relations between the United States and Sri Lanka.
As the presentation concluded, representatives from the America Sri Lanka Photographic and Art Society thanked the US Ambassador for her time and expressed their eagerness for future collaborations to further promote the cultural heritage of Sri Lanka in the United States.
