The prices of lottery tickets issued for sale by the National Lotteries Board (NLB) and the Development Lotteries Board (DLB) will be doubled from July 6. The prizes offered to the winners will also be increased, National Lotteries Board Kurunegala Zonal Manager Rohitha Senaratne said.
He told lottery tickets sales representatives of the NLB and the DLB that a lottery ticket is sold at Rs. 20 and that it will be increased to Rs. 40 from July 6.
The commissions offered to the sales representatives for selling tickets will also be increased by the NLB and the DLB. Rs. 3.75 is paid on every ticket when the price is Rs.20 each as commission to the sales representatives. When the price of a ticket is Rs.40, the commissions paid to the sales representatives would be Rs. 7.50.
Kurunegala District Lotteries Tickets Sales Representatives Association Treasurer D.L.O. Pathirana said that there are nearly 15,000 families that benefit by selling lottery tickets in the Kurunegala district.
There are also 220 Sales Representatives and 1,800 Sales Assistants of lottery tickets in the district.
