The police team that seized the fake currency notes
Officers of the Gampaha Division Crime Investigation Bureau raided a rented house in Daranagama, Delgoda where currency notes were being printed and took in for questioning two persons and seized the equipment in their possession.
A man was taken in for questioning at Makevita, Gampaha on a tip off with six fake notes of Rs. 500 and 17 fake notes of Rs. 50 in his possession and another person in a house in Delgoda, Daranagama.
The seized items included a laptop computer, a laser printer, a monitor, a mobile phone and 12 fake notes of Rs. 500.
The two suspects who are residents of Makevita and Pethiyagoda aged 28 and 23 will be produced in the Gampaha court.
