The Constitutional Council has approved the appointment of Prof. Manjula Fernando as the Chairman of the Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL). The Council arrived at this decision at its meeting held at the Parliamentary complex on Thursday under the patronage of Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena.
His name has been proposed to the Council by President Ranil Wickremesinghe. He is the professor of Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering of the Peradeniya University’s Engineering Faculty.This position fell vacant with the removal of Janaka Rathnayake from the post.
