“Galactic Night” to fete outstanding Leos

11 June, 2023

The annual Leo Award Ceremony, “Galactic Night”, to appreciate the Leos who have been engaged in social service work during the year, organised by Leo District 306 C1, will be held at Clover Banquet Resorts, Gonawala from 9.00 a.m on June 18.

The Leo organisation is one of the world’s largest youth organisations, created to represent youth, affiliated with Lions Clubs International, which aims to make a positive impact on society.

The word L.E.O stands for:L-Leadership,E-Experience and O-Opportunities.

The movement opens doors for youth to experience many opportunities thus gain a wealth of experience and opportunities for leadership.

The Leo organisation primarily focuses on community services along with developing leadership skills. Members of the movement participate in volunteer projects that address the needs of their local communities.

They give young people the opportunity to take on leadership roles in their society and engage in projects that foster personal growth and development. Through these experiences, Leo members gain valuable skills in organisation, communication, teamwork, and problem-solving that prepare them for future leadership positions in their communities and beyond.

Another important aspect of the Leo club movement is the fostering of international understanding and friendship. They engage in cultural exchange programs, international service projects, and collaborative projects with other Leo societies around the world. These activities promote global awareness and empathy among youth and create a community of compassionate people committed to creating positive change globally.

Leo organisations also place a strong emphasis on individual and professional development. They provide opportunities for members to attend leadership training seminars, workshops, and seminars where they can acquire new skills and knowledge.

These experiences not only enhance their personal growth but also equip them with the tools to become effective leaders and advocates for positive change in society.

Through their volunteer activities, leadership development programs, and international collaborations, Leos contribute to the betterment of society and inspire others to join humanitarian causes. By nurturing the potential of young people and setting them on a path of service and compassion, Leo organisations make a lasting and meaningful impact on the world.

Of the six LEO districts in Leo Multiple Sri Lanka, 306 C1 LEO district has spread along Colombo, Trincomalee, Avissawella, Kandy, Matale, Polonnaruwa and surrounding divisions.
