Central Province Tug of war teams

Central Province has come out with two top teams for the 47th national Tug of war event, which is being held in Colombo and today is the second day.

The Central Province women’s team comprise of Chamila Kumari (captain), Indra Kumari, Priyanka Ranaweera, Niroshi Ishara, Nisansala Sewwandi, Maheshika Madushani, Roshini Karunaratna, Anjali Dilrukshi and Nilantha Snadamali.

Sylverstrain do well in TT

St. Sylvester’s College have done well in table tennis where they were awarded the under-17, 15 and 13 championship titles and were placed number two in the under-11.

They were the runner-up in the men’s Open.

The men’s teamcomprise of UdaraMaoraktiya, Kumara

Karunaratne, Danushka Abenayake, Kaushan Gunwaradana, Rukshan Hemantha, Buddika Priyadarshana, I Wijetunga, Dilshan Kumara, Maduranga Dharmasiri, Pramod Banda and Indika Prasad.

Trinity beat DS in‘friendly’

Trinity College beat DS Senanayake by 35 points to five in a ‘friendly’ rugby game played at Pallekelle on Friday.

St. Sylvester’s sports meet

Gamanu House was number one followed by Vijay house, Parkrama House and Tissa House at the annual inter-house sports meet of St. Sylvester’s College held at the Bogambara Stadium.

Vidyartha rugby captain elected

The 2023 Vidyartha College rugby side will be led by Nanjana Wijesoorya and his deputy is Ravindu Gajanayake.

Rugby was introduced to Vidyartha in the 1960s due to the initiative of Old Trinitians like SG Mediwake, KA Perera and T. Muttiah.
