A group of Buddhist monks yesterday called on the Mahanayake Thera of Malwatte Chapter Most Ven.Thibbotuwawe Sri Sumangala Thera and Asgiriya Mahanayake Most Ven.Warakagoda Sri Gnanarathana Thera and urged them to intervene to stop the campaign launched by pastor Jerome Fernando against the Buddha Sasana.
These Buddhist monks representing Jana Aithin Surekime Jathika Bhikku Sanvidanaya (Organization of Buddhist monks to protect people’s rights) requested the Mahanayake Theras to apprise the government about this conspiracy against the Buddhist order.
They said the action of the pastor will lead to communal disharmony if action is not taken soon.
