President Ranil Wickremasinghe has appointed three new governors for the Provincial councils of North-western province, Northern Province and Eastern province.
• Northwestern Province: Lakshman Yapa Abeywardena
• Northern Province: PMS Charles
• Eastern Province: Senthil Thondaman
The new governors were appointed as provided under the 13th Amendment to the constitution and they were sworn at the Presidential Secretariat today morning (17 May) before the President.
