Sources revealed that the Criminal Investigation Department, which is investigating the death of the female student who died after falling from the fifth floor of a Kalutara hotel, on the orders of the Inspector General of Police, has uncovered many important details related to her death.
Criminal Investigation Department sleuths is also focusing on the analysis of the telephone records of the 19-year-old girl who had gone to the hotel with the deceased, her boyfriend, and the main suspect who was staying in the room with the student.
Criminal Investigation Department officers have decided to interrogate these suspects as well as the wife of the hotel owner who was the receptionist of the hotel on the day of the incident.
Sources revealed that the Criminal Investigation Department will report the facts to the Kalutara Magistrate’s Court today and will seek permission to interrogate the suspects and conduct a telephone record analysis.
The police headquarters revealed that there is a suspicion about the behaviour of some police officers in this investigation and that they are currently conducting a separate investigation into the behaviuor of the police in connection with the arrest of the suspects.
