Formal title deeds of land were handed over to 150 estate workers in Kumarawatta and Diyalumawatta estates of the Ministry of Plantation Industries under the leadership of Minister of Plantation Industries Dr. Ramesh Pathirana in Monaragala recently.
Along with that, coconut saplings were planted under the leadership of the minister to start a new model coconut plantation on a 30-acre land.
State Ministers Shashindra Rajapaksa and Vijitha Berugoda, Kumarasiri Ratnayake on behalf of the local political authority, government officials including Monaragala District Secretary Pasan Ratnayake, Plantation Ministry officials, retired Wing Commander BhuvanekaAbeysuriya, chairman of Janatha Vatu Development Board, and officials from the area attended to event.A large number oflocals alsoparticipated in this occasion.
