A ceremony of appreciation to appoint Ven. Agalakada Sirisumana Thera, Viharadhipathi of the Sri Bodhirajaramaya, Lunawa, Moratuwa and Ruwankanda Rajamaha vihara, Morawaka, Professor in Sinhala, University of Colombo) to the position of the Chief Judicial Prelate of the Western Province with the name Saahithya Pravachana Keerthi Sri Dharmarakshith by the Executive Committee of Chief Prelates led by the most Ven. Thibbatuwawe Sri Sidhdhartha Thera of the Malwathu Maha Vihara will be held on Saturday (May 13) at 2.30 pm at the New Arts Theatre of the University of Colombo.
A book titled Anuradhapura Sahithya (Literature of Anuradhapura) will also be launched at the ceremony to mark the occasion.
Deputy Chief Prelate of the Malwathu Sector Most Ven. Niyangoda Vijithasiri Abhidhan Thera, Archbishop Cardinal Malcolm Ranjith, Diyawadana Nilame Pradeep Nilanga Dela, Karu Jayasuriya Sri Lanka’s High Commissioner to India Milinda Moragoda, Vice Chancellor of the University of Colombo Senior Professor H. D. Karunaratne and Commissioner of Buddhist Affairs Sunanda Kariyapperuma will participate.
